Hello my Tai Chi Friends.
A new year is a fresh page.
I welcomed the New Year with a photo shoot at the City Park, using these images to share my New Year resolution.

My New Year resolution is:
To train extraordinary skills while living an ordinary life
Helping others and helping myself
Actually that’s my resolution for every year.
What’s yours?
I dare you:
- Dare you to learn a full Tai Chi routine with me this year?
- Dare you to show what you’ve learned from our club for next new year show?
The Tai Chi Club is here for fun, for health, and also for a higher level. I wish everyone growth, joy, and confidence in their own taiji journey.
A joyful kickoff on January 4, 2026
Our very first new class of the year started on 1/4/2026. Even though it was still holiday season, the class drew a wonderful turnout. So many familiar faces, and so many new friends! The energy in the room was warm, and full of laughter. I was so focused on enjoying the class that I completely forgot to ask for help taking a group photo 😄—a good reminder that sometimes being fully present means missing the perfect picture.
I’m also very curious to see who made a New Year’s resolution by attending only one class and then mysteriously disappeared from the rest. I believe Tai Chi has a funny way of inviting people back when the time is right.
Library class: reviewing the 24 Hand Form
Our library class has entered a review phase of the 24 Hand Form, with a shared goal: preparing more participants to join the hand form performance at our brilliant library’s Spring Show (Mark your calendar 3/14/2026!). The atmosphere has been supportive and focused, and as usual, we continued our free practice after 7 pm, by request.
To help the class with the hand form review, I made new following-along videos, front view and back view, in a new outfit.

A long-awaited warm-up routine (finally!)
For a long time, people have asked me: “Can you share your warm-up routine? It’s good enough to be my whole practice.”
A year later—I finally did it 😊
This year, I reorganized and upgraded the warm-up routine and shared it both in person and online. The new structure is:
- Scalable – suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners
- Customizable – adaptable to different needs and interests
It now includes three main parts:
- Joint mobility
- Muscle stretching
- Body Coordination
This routine is designed to grow with you—and with our community. its sub-movements can easily be replaced with something else our club members find interesting, useful, or heloful.
Tai Chi Club’s Warm-Up Tutorial. A shorter follow-along version will be coming soon.
Performance team: growing stronger, even in the cold
Our performance team is expanding, with more members stepping in to help us grow. We’ve been practicing at Hilltop, overcoming the cold weather together, and feeling genuinely excited for the upcoming Spring Show. There’s something powerful about training outdoors in winter it makes the anticipation of spring even sweeter.
Hold on tight… a beautiful surprise is slowly unfolding. If you’d like to volunteer or help, we would love to have you join us.

A library we love (Mahjong, anyone?)
The main library recently asked for help starting a Mahjong club—how brilliant and funny is that? I absolutely love our library. While I’m not a Mahjong expert (or fan 😄), I truly hope we can help make it happen. New year, new ideas, new connections. Lets see if we can make it. Please help if you can.
Happy New Year!
